DAWSON ADAMS explores concrete as a sculptural medium, with particular attention to surface and form. His work is a self inquiry into experiences of safety and mystery. SARA ALFIERI is from Lincoln, Nebraska and currently pursuing an MFA in ceramics. By using old and new mechanisms of working, digital fabrication in tandem with hand-built vessels allows her work to highlight resistances while finding ways to connect their potentials. The processes within her work remain critically important; its qualities are intrinsic to the expression of the object. Questioning the traditional method for mold-making used in industrial production, Alfieri seeks variety within her work. This sense of variety can be found through a modular mold system in which she deconstructs and reassembles mold parts produced from computer-aided design (CAD) developed prototypes. This, along with her colored slip application on plaster molds allows for variation in both form and surface. Moving from a digital to a physical space has allowed Alfieri to develop a duality of languages that can be translated to her designed pots. In short, Alfieri believes the pot exists beyond its purpose of utility. Through her most recent means of making, she is able to design and produce pots that investigate this idea. Pottery is meaningful in the way it allows for both personal expression and proximity between object and user. Alfieri is interested in pottery as an ingress to an experience. A pot solicits interaction, not just viewing. The meaning of a pot changes through experience, gaining content through use. By exploring the intersections between craft and design, she hopes to enhance the art and act of dining with a sense of complexity and intention in each piece's form and surface.

SHAWN TESEO BALLARIN is an artist based in Lincoln, Nebraska. He holds a Fellowship at the Lux Center for the Arts and is represented by Modern Arts Midtown in Omaha. Ballarin earned his BFA from the University of Nebraska and attended graduate school at Illinois State University. His work spans a variety of media, including painting, printmaking, photography, video, and bookmaking. He is also a musician and founding member of Heavier Than Air, an experimental ensemble featuring video art with a live soundtrack. Ballarin's projects have included public murals, private commissions, teaching, and album art that appeared in Rolling Stone and Spin magazines. Omaha artist JAMIE BURMEISTER's artworks have been exhibited in galleries, museums and public places throughout the world. KEITH D BUSWELL works with various printmaking processes such as screen-printing, intaglio, and mono printing, and dabbles in drawing and multimedia. He graduated with a BFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is currently a member of Karen Kunc's Constellation Studios, where he creates his prints. His work has been shown in the United States, Egypt, Dubai, France and Italy. Notably, Buswell received the Perry Family Award in 2018 and second place in the 40 Under 40 Showcase in Annapolis, Maryland and third place at the Under Pressure print show in Fort Collins, Colorado. RICHARD CHUNG (b. 1977, Honolulu, Hawaii) grew up in the California Bay Area. He received a bachelor's degree in studio art from the University of California, Berkeley, under the mentorship of Richard Shaw in 2001. Soon after college, Chung moved to Omaha, Nebraska, to work with renowned ceramic artist Jun Kaneko. During his time at Jun Kaneko Studio, he continued to develop and produce artwork, began showing his work through galleries, and received commissions from recognized public collections. His first solo show was in 2017 at the RNG Gallery in Council Bluffs. Chung continues to produce and exhibit work. His work is included in numerous private and public collections. As a ceramic artist, Chung's body of work consists of several series that he has developed over many years. His figurative work explores human emotions and connections, striving to convey their essence through the medium of clay. The Motion Series examines the transient nature of existence, inspired by his fascination with how time manifests and shapes our lives. Through these pieces, he aims to reflect the ever-changing human experience in its various moments. The dynamic lines in this series highlight the impermanence and constant motion inherent in life. The Figure Series delves into the lives of everyday people, and is a personal exploration where Chung seeks to convey our shared narratives. Rather than focusing on intricate details, He attempts to capture the liveliness and gestures that define the human experience. This approach allows him to highlight the broader aspects of human interaction and emotion. Chung's Smaller Works serve as experimental studies, offering him the freedom to explore color and surface treatments. They act as a playground for testing new ideas and techniques, contributing to the evolution of his larger works. Glaze Paintings, a recently developed series, recontextualizes traditional 2-D painting by using colored glazes as the primary medium. The imagery in these pieces are crafted entirely with glaze, showcasing the versatility and richness of this material. This approach reflects Chung's exploration of possibilities within ceramic art. All Chung's work is created solely using ceramic materials, occasionally employing epoxy to join larger pieces together.

EVAN COLBERT is an artist living in Longmont, Colorado who has been producing paintings and prints since 1992. His work can be found in various collections such as The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art in Eugene, Oregon, The U.S. Department of State Art Library in Washington, DC, and The CU Denver College of Arts and Media Library. His recent lithographs have been published by Shark's Ink in Lyons, Colorado, and are based on a series of monotypes produced by the artist where he attempts to create satisfying abstract visual compositions using a process much like sketching, where he repeatedly layers color fields, patterns, arrays of shapes, and found imagery onto paper, until he is satisfied with the results (or ruins the piece). Colbert has had access to a lithography printing press for the past twenty-three years, which has allowed him to produce countless editioned lithographs and monotypes a few times a year. Since 2018, he has concentrated his efforts mostly on abstract monotypes and paintings. Colbert layers color flats, grids of shapes, and patterns with abstract imagery from photolithographic plates, as well as found physical objects such as bubble-pack and perforated metal, which he rolls with ink and prints in the press or by hand-burnishing.

BOB CULVER is a painter from Omaha, Nebraska. He served on the Bemis board of directors for many years, currently serves on the board of Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and is former president of the Museum of Nebraska Art board of directors. His body of work is distinctive for its seamless weaving of close-to-home influences and worldwide events, inspired primarily by pop artists of the '60s and '70s with a dash of great portrait painters such as John Singer Sargent. He creates richly detailed paintings, 3-D cutouts, and automata that all work on multiple levels. Simultaneously culturally idealistic and socially critical, they provide insight into the artist and the subjects that have informed his creative practice over the past five decades. Culver's work has been featured in numerous private collections. He has exhibited in solo and group shows at Modern Arts Midtown, Omaha, Nebraska. Culver did two summer residencies at Kent State Blossom Center where he studied with Wayne Thiebaud, Alex Katz, Frank Gallo, Phillip Pearlstein, James Melchert, and Jack Tworkov and was a studio assistant with Red Grooms from 1969-1972. Culver received his BFA from the University of Nebraska.

FALLEN FRUIT (DAVID ALLEN BURNS and AUSTIN YOUNG) create art that often engages public realms, historical archives, and commissioned artworks for museums. BETH FEIN is an interdisciplinary artist who grew up in the Hudson Valley and now lives in Berkeley, California. She works in her Oakland studio and as an artist-in-residence at KALA Art Institute in Berkeley, where she has taught nontoxic printmaking. Fein's art practice includes installation, sculpture, printmaking, video, and performance. She has exhibited nationally and internationally. From 2005-2016 Fein created and directed an international public art project, which had thousands of participants on seven continents, in sixty-six countries, and 714 cities. MARCUS FISCHER is an interdisciplinary artist and musician based in Portland, Oregon. He is a first-generation American artist who creates, collects, and transforms sound into immersive, layered compositions that accompany performances and exhibitions. Site-specific assemblages of exposed speakers, tape loops, and objects are characteristic of his installations, paired with melodies of restraint and tension. He has released numerous recordings-both solo and collaborative-on 12k, a label that has decisively defined and developed its own concept of minimalism in the realms of experimental and ambient music. NEIL GRIESS is a visual artist based in Omaha, Nebraska. He creates realistic paintings and drawings of landscapes such as preserved prairies and suburban spaces of personal significance. TIM GUTHRIE, the Joella Cohen Endowed Chair at Creighton University, is an Omaha-based multimedia visual artist and filmmaker. RAVEN HALFMOON is an artist and sculptor from Norman, Oklahoma. She is a citizen of the Caddo Nation and also Choctaw, Delaware, and Otoe Missouria. Working mainly in portraiture, Halfmoon hand-builds each work using a coil method. Her surfaces are expressive and show deep finger impressions and dramatic dripping glazes, a physicality that presences her as both maker and matter. She fuses Caddo pottery traditions-a history of making mostly done by women-with populist gestures, often tagging her work in a reference to Caddo tattooing.
Halfmoon holds a double bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas, where she majored in ceramics/painting and cultural anthropology. In 2023, Halfmoon's solo exhibition, Flags of Our Mothers, was featured at The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art (Ridgefield, Connecticut) and in 2024 at Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts. Halfmoon's next solo exhibition, Neesh & Soku (Moon & Sun), opened at Salon 94 (New York, New York) in September 2024.

ALLEGRA HANGEN is a multidisciplinary artist, independent curator, and cultural organizer based in Mexico City and Omaha, Nebraska. Omaha-based artist CAMILLE HAWBAKER VOORHEES uses a variety of "craft" traditions from printmaking, book arts, and textile arts to create mixed-media works. ANNIE HAYES is a painter living in Upstate New York and SoHo, New York City. MARICA JOFFE-BOUSKA's mixed-media "icon series" of relief sculptures began as a response to "Missouri River Transit" from the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Sculpture Project. What developed was a series of emblematic forms sharing common elements, repeating a similar vocabulary, creating an iconography of its own. Gradually the sculptures began to encompass and include other sources and references, expanding the motifs used. Joffe-Bouska works from a home studio in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She earned a BA degree in Art and Art Education from Clarke University (Dubuque, Iowa), and an MA degree in Studio Art (painting and drawing) from Northern Illinois University (DeKalb, Illinois). JUN KANEKO was born in Japan in 1942. He came to the United States in 1963 to study at Chouinard Institute of Art in Los Angeles, and became part of the Contemporary Ceramics movement in America in the late '60s and early '70s. The following decade, Kaneko taught at some of the nation's leading art schools including Scripps College, Rhode Island School of Design, and Cranbrook Academy of Art. Based in Omaha since 1986, Kaneko has worked at several experimental studios around the world. Over the course of his career he has partnered with industrial facilities to realize large-scale, hand-built sculptures. Kaneko is increasingly drawn to installations that promote civic interaction. He has completed over fifty public art commissions, including the most recent, Glass Tower, in downtown Lincoln, Nebraska. His artwork appears in numerous international and national solo and group exhibitions annually, and is included in more than seventy museum collections.

JUSTIN N. KIM is a Korean-born painter who currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California. TODD MCCOLLISTER has two art careers: sculptor and furniture maker. The sculptures are wood and mixed media (including wire, string, and found objects), and the furniture pieces are almost entirely wood. He earned a BFA in sculpture and photography in 1996 from Texas Christian University and an MFA in sculpture in 2000 from Stony Brook University. He then moved to New York City, first pursuing sculpture and shifting to furniture in 2006. In 2014 McCollister brought what he learned back to his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska, and founded Long Grain Furniture. He is an active member of the Omaha art community and believes in supporting his fellow artists as a path to everyone's success. He's currently running a monthly event series called "Final Fridays at Todd's," aimed at bringing the community together to make us all stronger through networking and sharing experiences and information. He's the 2022 recipient of the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Award for Outstanding 3-D Artist.

THOMAS PRINZ is the principal of Arc-Studio, which is located in Omaha and was established in 1990 to explore the disciplines of art and architecture. He has been an adjunct professor and visiting critic at UNL School of Architecture. IGGY SUMNIK is well-known to the Omaha art community as a talented ceramic sculptor, artist, community arts educator, friend, and studio host. His many Omaha accomplishments include a Kaneko apprenticeship concluded in 2008. Iggy held connections between Omaha and his Detroit home where he maintained the Art By Iggy Studio full-time. His iconic works include jellybeans, stylized fish, birds (often on a wire), and other forms. Iggy's real love was creating imaginative, one-of-a-kind sculptures of unusual shape and statement; he left a legacy of sculptures when an illness unexpectedly took his life in 2023. Two pieces are presented here.
In Iggy's words, "My art merges the natural world and industry, not in a negative way, but in a more ambiguous and thought-provoking way. I like my audience to do a little thinking for themselves, so I tend not to give people the answer."

BARBARA TAKENAGA is an abstract painter who makes images that are abstract and representational, microscopic and cosmic. Exhibitions include DC Moore Gallery in New York City, a twenty-year Survey at the Williams College Museum of Art; wall installations at Space/42 of the Neuberger Museum and MASS MoCA; and a two-person show at Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts. Public works include the MTA Arts mosaic and glass installations at the Metro North Station in White Plains, New York and a thirty-foot mosaic wall at NYU Langone. Her twenty-year survey was accompanied by an illustrated book, with an essay by curator Debra Bricker Balken, published by Delmonico|Prestel in 2017. She is a 2020 recipient of a Guggenheim Foundation fellowship and represented by DC Moore, Robischon Gallery, Pamela Salisbury Gallery, and by print publishers Shark's Ink and Wingate Studio. Takenaga lives in New York City and is a Professor Emerita at Williams College.

"I celebrate my vibrant and colorful heritage with all its glory of patterns and textures and geometric form which innately exudes from me. My work is inspired by techniques used in batiking. When the elements of batiking are translated onto wood or canvas, there is a layering of different colors, patterns, and textures. The relationship between these three elements create a unique harmony within the elements of each design. Through the years, my work has changed and evolved, giving me a sense of purpose and a vehicle to express my feelings and desires. My style of painting has allowed me to encompass methods of expression utilized by my ancestors and adds a modern relevance to my growth as a proud black female artist. Through my work I have created three layers of stimulation by using layers of colors, textures and lines within each design. Your eye stimulation is my inspiration. I am exploring what happens with lines and within lines of colors because the way colors change next to another color excites me."
Talbert's recent exhibitions include the group exhibit Centered from the Reuben Saunders Gallery at 1516 Gallery, 2024. She presently has work in the display window at Anderson O'Brien. Recent awards include 2022 Artist of the Year, 2023 Outstanding Group exhibit Ebb and Flow, and Outstanding public art for Peace Mural.

WESTON THOMSON is a multidisciplinary artist based in Omaha, Nebraska. He holds a BFA degree from CSU Chico and has supported the arts for over fifteen years through nonprofit and university work with youth and adults. LAURIE VICTOR KAY (b. 1971) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work blurs the lines between photography, painting, installation and digital mediums to address constructed imagination, idealization and a sense of the surreal. Her various bodies of work range from photographic series that reimagine and abstract the everyday to autobiographical mixed-media series that examine the psyche, vulnerability, and contemporary culture. Throughout her practice, she emphasizes seemingly opposing elements as a means to visualize psychological landscapes and the structural interactions between nature and the inorganic. She studied painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and photography at Columbia College Chicago (BFA, 1995). Her work can be seen in permanent installations at UNMC's Lauritzen Outpatient Center and Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, the Women's Center for Advancement, May River Capital in Chicago, 4 World Trade Center in New York, Marriott Capitol Arts District, and Tenaska. She has exhibited throughout the United States and Europe, and her work is held in numerous private collections around the country. She is the recipient of numerous awards; has collaborated with companies across the globe, like Desmalter Paris, Jim Thompson Thai Silk Company and Solé Bicycles; and has worked with an impressive roster of clientele, including the likes of Nike, Alanis Morisette, Warren Buffett, Robert Redford, Michael Douglas, Alexander Payne, Gigi Gorgeous, The Red Cross, The New York Times, and Condé Nast Traveler, to name a few. She is a current member of the Healing Arts Advisory Board for the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

At age eight with a Kodak bought for the trip, Walters documented his family's move from California to Upstate New York and has continued to point a lens at his world ever since. Using photography, video, and film, Walters's work explores the places he lives and his personal relationship to these communities and the family of friends he has met along the way. DENNIS D WATTIER's goal is to create works of art that highlight his turning and carving skills in a creative manner but also in some cases, to tell a story. He has created his own unique style and uses special techniques to create intricately designed vessels and bowls. The use of different laminated hard woods in his work has been evolving to include more sculptural forms, which add a certain vitality and creative edge to the vessels. His work has been shown locally as well as in venues throughout the midwest where he has won awards, such as Best of Sculpture in the 2020 Nebraska Biennial at the 1516 Gallery, Omaha and first place at the twelfth annual juried show, Norfolk Art Center, Norfolk, Nebraska.

Wetjen draws inspiration from travel, the great outdoors, and significant life experiences, frequently referencing vistas, textures, and patterns that inspire feelings of peace and calm. Wetjen studied printmaking at the University of Nebraska Omaha (BASA, 1998) and the Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp, Belgium. He primarily works in painting (acrylic, charcoal, graphite, chalk, watercolor), sculpture, ceramics, and installation.
"I have been focused on painting for several years as a means of translating the images and ideas in my head to paper and canvas so I can share them with others. Recently, I've been integrating more 3-D work into my studio practice. The relationship between real-world objects and experiences is essential to my work, just as it's essential for us as humans to have real, present, physical experiences along with visual and intellectual ones. Our hands and bodies can see and sense in their own ways like our eyes and brain can. I like to create work that allows viewers to connect with memories that remind them of beautiful and peaceful places they have visited, moments where they have felt comfort and love, and the feelings that flow with those memories. My paintings are generally abstractions of landscapes and visual stories. My sculptural and installation work explores places and references to our natural environment using similar abstractions."

WATIE WHITE (b. 1971) is an Omaha-based painter, printmaker, and public artist.
